Our Bioinformatics Center (BIC) is located at the Bose
Institute Centenary Campus situated on 54, Bagmari
Road, beside Maniktala ESI Hospital & Opposite of Central
Library, Kolkata 700054, West Bengal.
Kolkata, one of the
oldest metropolitan city in India is connected by air, rail and road to all the
metropolises and most major cities of the country. Also, one
can fly direct to Kolkata from several international airports.
The nearest airport to Bose Institute is
Dum-Dum Airport (Netaji
Subhash Biman Bandar) about 11.9 kms from Bose institute
Centenary Campus. You can get direct taxis/cars from the
Airport or you can head towards main road first (VIP road) and
get a transport there. There are a number of transport
facilities available from Airport - one can reserve a pre-paid
taxi or choose to go by paying per head (approx Rs.80/-) from
the Bus Junction area. You can also get Volvo buses in front
of the arrival terminus of the airport which comes to
Ultadanga crossing which is just 5mins walking distance from
The closest Railway Station is Howrah, about 20 km away from
the Institute. From Howrah Railway Station one can avail
pre-paid taxis directly to our campus. Pre-paid taxis are the
recommended way of reaching Bose Institute Centenary campus
from Howrah station. There is counter of Pre-Paid Taxi
Services just outside the station. Specify your destination as
Maniktala ESI Hospital bus stop. The rates are posted prominently behind the counter.
You will be given a receipt for your payment. Retain this till
the end of your ride.
You can also avail private Bus (No. 44,
71, 12C/2) or Howrah-Salt Lake Mini Bus or Howrah to Airport
Volvo bus and get down at Maniktala ESI Hospital bus stop to reach our campus.

Local transport in Kolkata
Normally taxis are available in Kolkata and charge according to
the metered fare. This is converted into the actual fare by
multiplying by a fixed factor (currently 2.0 for digital
